Cafe 99

Remember my hunt for a job about a month back? Well, the Malaysian restaurant did not get back to me eventually. So i went on to search for another opening from the University careers website. I came across advertisements for a kitchen hand in a vegatarian restaurant, sandwich / counter hand in a few cafes. However, one of them got my attention. It is situated in North Melbourne, which is quite near to where i am staying presently. I prepared my CV and got it ready to be sent out the very next day. However, the details on the Uni website was wrong. The proprietor's contact was wrong, there wasnt an address, nor an email contact. How am i going to get my CV through to the cafe? I called the careers department in Uni and they told me that that is all they were provided with. I tried calling Telstra listings.. but there wasnt any listing name for 'Cafe 99'. So, i went onto google and typed 'Cafe 99 in North Melbourne'. That is where i found out that the cafe is part of the Archives Centre of Victoris in North Melbourne. Now that i know where this cafe is, i'll be able to drop by the place and give the CV to Tony personally. When I got there on Monday morning, and before he read my CV, he could already tell me that the he was looking for someone who could commit for a year or more, knowing i will be graduating this July. Well, i told him to keep the resume, moreover it was addressed to him. It is alright, I'll try another place.

A week later, on a tuesday, i went into the chaplaincy for the lunch-time rosary. After the session, i had a chat with Sr Theresea and just tell her some of my initial plans after graduation and told her the difficulty of getting a casual job when the employers know of my coming graduation. She gave me some suggestions and was thinking of trying them out. And she said she will pray for me and get her fellow Sisters to remember me in their prayers. I went home after that and took a nap. When i got up from the nap, later in the evening, i received 3 SMSes; 2 from Clar, and the other was from Cafe 99 asking me to go for a trial on friday. The first thought that came to my mind was... WOW! the power of prayer! I was really happy, this is a very good start. On the same evening, while having dinner with Nicky, I got a phone call from a vegetarian restaurant asking me to go for a trial, also on that friday afternoon. I had to turn them down because Tony got back to me first.

on the day of the AGM, I told Sr Thresea all about it and really thanked her for all those prayers. Now I am praying for a Sr Clare who would like the Lord to take her 'Home". I never did under estimate the power of prayers and never will. It always turns out the way it is suppose to be and in a quite beautiful manner too!
